Macgregor now turns to the tales and rhymes that Christopher has heard from Nurse Judith. These people his imagination too — one is Guy of Warwick, who did penance in Jerusalem for his violent past; the other is Lady Dolly, who must also come from an old Romance (stanza 6). Her escape is some moment of high drama that has evidently fixed itself in the little boy's mind.
