Still in his dreamy state, Christopher sees many other nursery-rhyme characters, including Cinderella, who is being watched over by a very benign-looking fairy-godmother leaning on her long, slender wand, as she tries on the glass slipper. It looks as if there is a minstrels' gallery above them.
