A Change for the Better

A Change for the Better by John Tenniel. Punch (September 21, 1867). The caption continues: &ldquoMother Church. ‘Ah! Now you are my dear old Protestant Boy again!’” Mother Church (wearing an Elizabethan ruff around her neck to suggest the period when the Anglican Church was founded) addresses her handsome boy as Mr. Punch removed the excessively ornate garments associated with Ritualism.
