At left is the New Library, which dates from the fifteenth century, and perpendicular to it is the Old Common Room and the Old Library. Anthony Salvin's crenellated tower (1852-53) appears above the Old Common Room. The photograph at the top of the page was taken from the passage here barely visible where the two buildings meet.
