Rear board for ‘The Yellow Book’

1896

Yellow cloth with heavy blocking

8¼ x 6½ inches

Patten Wilson’s more conservative rear board, which replaced Beardsley’s, is fantastic and child-like rather than erotic or strange. Wilson’s design was applied even though the front covers and spines were done by other artists.
