Elizabeth Steere is a senior lecturer at the University of North Georgia in the Distance Education & Technology Integration department, teaching composition and literature eCore courses. Her research interests include nineteenth-century genre fiction, twenty-first century pedagogy, and women’s writing. Her book, The Female Servant and Sensation Fiction: "Kitchen Literature" was published by Palgrave in 2013.
She has published articles on literature in Women’s Writing, Nineteenth-Century Gender Studies, Neo-Victorian Studies, Victorian Popular Fictions Journal, Brontë Studies, and the Journal of Victorian Culture Online. She has also contributed to The Literary Encyclopedia, the Companion to Victorian Popular Fiction, and The Palgrave Encyclopedia of Victorian Women’s Writing. In addition, she has written about pedagogy for Inside Higher Ed and the 2022 collection Teaching Literature in the Online Classroom. Her creative and nonfiction writing has appeared in McSweeney’s, Points in Case, and Salvation South.
