r. Taten Shirley is an associate professor and chair of the English and Humanities department at Faulkner University. She received her Ph.D. in humanities from Salve Regina University. Her research interests include the Brontë sisters, Victorian literature, the Industrial Revolution, and technology. She is the author of The Industrial Brontës: Advocates for Women in a Turbulent Age and the editor of A Vain Talent? The Question of Female Artistry in the Life and Work of Anne Brontë.
