Red and yellow tiles with the Minster's cross-keys motif (1) by Minton, originally laid at the Chapter House, York Minster during Sydney Smirke's restoration of 1844-45. The Chapter House signage says, "many still have their original yellow overglaze" and explains that an invoice of 1845 indicates that "four patterns are unique to York Minster." This may be one of those four patterns.
