Amy Milne-Smith has a BHum from Carleton University, a Master’s from Queen’s University and a PhD from the University of Toronto. Her first monograph, London Clubland: A Cultural History of Gender and Class in Late-Victorian Britain, was published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2011. She has also published articles in Gender and History and the Journal of British Studies. Her most recent article, “Queensberry’s Misrule: Reputation, Publicity, and the Idea of the Victorian Gentleman,” is published in the Canadian Journal of History. Her current research focuses on the history of mental illness and masculinity in Britain. She teaches in the History Department at Wilfrid Laurier University, Canada.
