Overlooking Fishguard Harbor. The town’s main claim to fame is that in 1797 a batch of French troops attempted to invade England but missed their mark in the dark and ended up in Fishguard, whereupon Jemima Nicholas took up her pitchfork with the result that a dozen French soldiers surrendered to her.
